Cincinnati Original Creative Festival
Cincinnati, OH June 23-25, 2011
Debbie Heck started sewing at age 5 with the scraps from her mom's projects. She has made everything from scrap clothes for her Barbie dolls to wedding apparel for many, including herself. Nearly 40 years later she loves creating as much now as she did then. Debbie's passion is teaching others to sew creatively, quickly, and frugally. Both of Debbie's children, ages 7 and 5 are now sewing with her. A few years ago she started the Squiggly Twigs Designs e-pattern company as a means to teach others the easy and quick techniques she developed while creating clothing for her children. Her daughter is one of the Squiggly Twigs designers. Now she teaches classes at the library, her home, as a sewing coach online, and on her blog with her Tuesday's Tute Feature. Debbie is an adviser to the FCS Teen Board for 4-H in Clermont County, and was recently the presenter for the American Sewing Guild's online meeting.
